Montenegro’s highwaysare ready for the upcoming winter season,theRoad Traffic Administration said. The company Monteput, which manages the route, noted that all necessary preparations for winter maintenance of the road have been completed, and traffic on the route will operate regularly throughout the year.
“The main and regional roads are ready for the upcoming winter season. Uninterrupted traffic is expected, except on roads where the traffic regime has been changed due to construction works. On roads where work is underway and the traffic regime has been changed, drivers need to follow the rules and obey the temporarily installed traffic lights,” the Road Traffic Administration said.
The total length of the main and regional roads under the jurisdiction of the Road Traffic Administration is 1,935 kilometers, which are maintained by Crnagoraput. The Road Traffic Administration reminds that it has signed a four-year contract for the maintenance and protection of main and regional roads with Crnagoraput for the period from 2019 to 2023.
“The contract was concluded in the amount of 37.99 million euros. All necessary preparations for the upcoming winter season have been completed; in the previous period we had good mutual cooperation,” the Road Traffic Administration said.
The administration notes that significant financial resources were invested in road infrastructure in the previous period, so many roads were reconstructed and built.
Highways are ready for winter
Monteput says the company has made all necessary preparations for winter road maintenance. This includes purchasing the necessary vehicles, supplies and equipment, hiring the required number of maintenance workers, and training them.
