Prime Minister Milojko Spajić confirmed, that the American corporation Bechtel and the Turkish Enka are once again taking part in discussions on the construction of the highway Bar–Boljare, one of Montenegro’s key infrastructure corridors. A memorandum of understanding was recently signed with the government, marking the beginning of a new stage of cooperation with U.S. support.

According to Spajić, the implementation of this strategic transport project is one of the foundations of long-term cooperation between Montenegro and Washington. Bechtel and Enka are highly motivated to participate in the construction and modernization of an important route connecting the coastal region with the northern part of the country.
Previously, these companies had already shown interest in the first phase of the highway, but financial and geopolitical circumstances then prevented the project from being completed. New negotiations and official recognition from the authorities mean the country is ready to enter the active phase of project implementation.
