According to Monstat, real estate prices in the country are 11.5% higher than in the same period last year. The average price per square meter of housing in Montenegro jumped to 1,380 euros in the second quarter.
Compared to the previous quarter, the average price per square meter of an apartment in a new building is 8.7 percent higher.
The average price per square meter of an apartment in a new building largely depends on the number of apartments that fall into the category of social housing, Monstat explained. If the share of these apartments is higher, the average price will be significantly lower, and vice versa.
The average price per square meter of an apartment in a new building in Podgorica amounted to 1,390 euros in the second quarter. On the coast, it amounted to 1,470 euros, in the central region — 611 euros, and in the north the average price per square meter of an apartment in a new building amounted to 915 euros.
