Last year, despite the coronavirus pandemic, Montenegro received 663 million euros in foreign direct investment (FDI). Over the same period, the outflow amounted to 195.5 million euros.

Without a doubt, the NATO countries invested the most money in Montenegro — 230 million euros.

Individually, Russia confidently takes first place in investments, having invested 99 million euros in Montenegro over 12 months. It is followed by China with investments of 71 million euros and Switzerland with just over 63 million euros.

The total inflow of foreign direct investment decreased by 14.8% compared to the same period, which is the result of a decline in property investment, the Central Bank bulletin says.
