Among the largest projects in the tourism industry are the Portonovi complexes on the Herceg Novi Riviera, Luštica Bay on the Luštica Peninsula, and Porto Montenegro in Tivat. The investors in these projects are showing other market players that Montenegro is a safe place for capital. Tourism accounts for 32% of investment in the country’s economy. The transport sector accounts for 30%, and energy for 22%, said Miloš Jovanović, Director of the Agency for Foreign Investment Promotion.

“We expect new capital investments in the energy sector, primarily in renewables such as water, wind, and sun. There is also a group of investors interested in building the second unit of the Pljevlja thermal power plant and a gas plant,” Jovanović added.
