Last week was signed a Memorandum of Understanding between the government, the Municipality of Ulcinj, and the Saudi company Al Shiddi Group with the aim of studying the possibility of developing a tourist complex on the Mavrijan cape (Mavrijan) in Ulcinj.
Prime Minister Dritan Abazović said after the signing that this is a big day for Ulcinj and Montenegro, explaining that Mavrijan cape, located between Bar and Ulcinj, is an unusual place, surrounded by the sea on three sides.
According to him, if an agreement is reached, Montenegro is expected to get a prestigious resort in this location, which will have several tourist and commercial components.
“The idea is for Mavrijan to become a new small town with all amenities. I believe this is a serious company that has all the necessary references to develop such a project. This opens business opportunities for other companies from Saudi Arabia, as well as from other countries,” Abazović said.
He also added that bringing in brands creates opportunities for new jobs for the citizens of Montenegro.
“This is also an excellent ticket for the numerous partners that Al Shiddi Group has. Everyone who wants to do honest business from any country is welcome in Montenegro, a country of opportunities. I look forward to successful businessmen who see a chance in developing our country,” Abazović said. Mavrijan cape is one of the greatest development potentials of the Municipality of Ulcinj
The president of Al Shiddi Group, Suleiman Al Shiddi, reminded that they have been operating in the region for 15 years already, where they have good experience, and that their goal is to expand beyond the region.
“I want to thank the Government of Montenegro for giving us the opportunity to realize major investments in Mavrijan,” said El Shiddi.
He also thanked the Minister of Capital Investments, Ervin Ibrahimović, who encouraged him and invited him to come.
“This will be only the beginning and a great opportunity for Arab investors in the Montenegro area. I hope that we will realize all the opportunities,” said El Shiddi.
