As of today, within the framework of the “Citizenship by Investment” program, the Government of Montenegro has approved four projects:
- New 4-star Bjelasica Hotel in Kolašin.
- Luxury 5-star Breza Hotel in Kolašin.
- Westin Hotel in Kolašin.
- Durmitor Hotel and Villas – a project near the UNESCO World Heritage site in Durmitor.
Two more projects are currently awaiting approval – The Chedi Hotel in Žabljak and Kolašin 1600 in Kolašin. The minimum investment for both projects is €250,000.
The Chedi Hotel
The five-star hotel is located in Durmitor National Park at an altitude of 1,419 to 1,434 m above sea level. The abundance of greenery and the close proximity to Black Lake are ideal for relaxation. The hotel will have three swimming pools, a spa center, a fitness center, a restaurant, a café, etc. Program participants are offered to invest in hotel rooms and villas.
Kolašin 1600
Kolašin 1600 is Montenegro’s highest resort, located in the southern part of the Bjelasica mountain range. The project will include two residential zones with first-class hotels and apartments, with a zone of private chalets between them. The ski slope area will be integrated into the settlement, ensuring ideal accessibility for all residential units at the resort – skiers will be able to ski “from the doorstep and back.” From Podgorica Airport to Kolašin, it takes 35 minutes – one of the ski resorts in Europe closest to an international airport.
To qualify for Montenegrin citizenship under the investment program, investors can purchase a share in one of the approved projects for €250,000 or €450,000, including 21% VAT, in addition to a donation to the state fund of €100,000. The investment holding period is 5 years, after which investors may resell to a new investor in the program. The Montenegro citizenship program offers global investors a number of valuable benefits in the sector. These include a fast application approval process and citizenship issuance within six months, free travel to more than 123 countries with a Montenegrin passport, and access to one of the fastest-growing economies in the region.
