The director of the Institute of Public Health of Montenegro, Igor Galić, said that since the start of the summer season in the country, 10,000 free PCR tests for tourists. Of these, only 84 were positive. At present, three tourists are being treated in COVID hospitals in Montenegro.
The director of the institute also noted that, despite the fact that more than one hundred thousand foreigners crossed the border in recent months, infection rates increased only slightly, but he did not rule out a rise in the autumn.
In total, there are currently 327 active cases in Montenegro.
Vaccination of Montenegro citizens
The first dose of the vaccine was received by almost 162,000 people, or 26.1%, and the second by more than 146,000 people.
In Montenegro, 35.4 percent of the adult population has been vaccinated with the first dose of the coronavirus vaccine, and 31.9 percent have received a booster. So far, 307,939 doses of the coronavirus vaccine have been administered.
Mass vaccination against coronavirus began in Montenegro on May 4.
