Montenegro’s Prime Minister Dritan Abazovic, together with the company Martin Leitner, which is building the Kotor-Lovćen cable car, announced that an agreement has been reached on the official opening of the cable car on July 13 this year.
“In June we will have test runs, and the opening ceremony will be tied to our national holiday,” Abazovic said at a government session.
The first stone of the cable car was laid last year, on Montenegro Statehood Day.
The cable car will be 3,918 meters long, with a capacity of 1,000 passengers per hour and 40 gondolas, and the travel time will be 11 minutes. The starting point is planned in Kotor, and the end point in Lovćen.
