The first such festival, held in March in Kotor and Stoliv, is the Days of Camellia. This is a local colorful celebration with a rich program, in which the camellia takes center stage. During these days, local events and numerous concerts dedicated to the camellia flower are held, thematic installations are set up, camellia exhibitions are organized, and a Camellia Ball is held, where the Lady Camellia is chosen. A beautiful legend is associated with the festival’s main flower, dating back to the 18th century, according to which, in 1870, this camellia was brought from Japan by a certain captain as a gift for his wife.“Spring Camp”
