Already at the beginning of May, small and medium-sized businesses may start operating in Montenegro, and in the second half of the month, catering and service establishments. Marinas for receiving all vessels will also be opened. This was announced to representatives of the tourism industry by Montenegro’s Prime Minister Duško Marković.
We want to preserve any jobs in tourism. The government will help workers directly. Tourism is not only a sector, but also a powerful market tool for our economic and currency stability. Therefore, we will put this at the forefront of our economic measures and will soon come up with a solution for how to support the preservation of our companies and entrepreneurs in tourism, as well as jobs, by allocating about five million euros from the budget,” Marković said.
Easing of quarantine:
Recall that on April 21, the Government of Montenegro introduced the first easing of measures to combat the spread of coronavirus. The easing affected the curfew and store opening hours. Now it is possible to be outside until 23:00 (previously until 19:00 on weekdays, until 13:00 on Saturday, and until 11:00 on Sunday). Stores operate as usual from 7:00 to 22:00 from Monday to Saturday. The National Coordination Council also allowed individual outdoor sports activities, provided that distance is maintained. In addition, residents of Tuzi can now travel to neighboring Podgorica. Previously, due to the coronavirus outbreak, entry to and exit from the settlement was prohibited. All other restrictive measures remain in place. The government asks that they be taken seriously and strictly observed.
