The Government of Montenegro has successfully completed a deal that reduced the interest rate on the loan to Chinese Exim Bank and made it possible to save eight million euros annually, Finance and Social Welfare Minister Milojko Spajić said.
The minister explained that this arrangement made it possible to reduce the interest rate on the debt to Chinese Exim Bank from two percent in dollars to 0.88 percent in euros.
“This is an agreement with banks in which we are lowering interest rates, and the creditor is still Chinese Exim Bank, but two American and one French bank took part in the deal,” Spajić said, adding that these are the world’s most well-known banks.
