Last week, the Israeli company BIG Shopping Centres fulfilled all the conditions to officially acquire the Delta City Podgorica shopping center in full ownership.
According to the company, the purchase of Delta City Podgorica is their ticket to Montenegro, “and only the beginning of our support and investment in the country”.
“This deal is in line with our strategy, which we announced last year, to continue developing the company in the Balkans. BIG will provide its customers with a new experience through regular and dynamic events throughout the year, as well as through numerous new stores and brands,” said Lev Weiss, CEO of BIG CEE.
Delta City Podgorica covers an area of 24,500 square meters, is 100 percent occupied, and is the largest shopping center in Montenegro.
Bar, Kotor, and Nikšić will also get their own shopping center
After purchasing the Delta City shopping center, the Israeli company BIG announced the expansion of its business in Bar, Kotor and Nikšić. This was announced by Prime Minister Dritan Abazović on his Twitter account.
“After the purchase of Delta City, BIG announced the expansion of its business in Bar, Kotor, and Nikšić. Over the next three years, we expect to open more than a thousand new jobs,” Abazović wrote on Twitter.
He said that Montenegro is open to investors with political messages.
“We are implementing a program, we are creating new value. Montenegro is a country of opportunities,” Abazović added.
