The total cost of the minimum consumer basket in Montenegro for September 2020 amounted to 646.10 euros. According to the statistical office Monstat, of this amount, spending on food and non-alcoholic beverages amounted to 277.30 euros, while spending on non-food items and services amounted to 368.80 euros.

According to the latest data, the total cost of the minimum consumer basket in September increased by 0.7 percent compared to August.

Montenegro can expect to receive about five percent of the funds, grants and concessional loans worth nine billion euros from the European Commission's (EC) investment program for the Western Balkans, which amounts to about 450–500 million, but everything depends on the quality of the proposed projects.

Over the past ten years since the EU investment system has existed, Montenegro has received about 410 million out of approximately 7.5 billion in distributed grants and concessional loans to countries in the region.

The value of the projects for which Montenegro has so far applied independently or together with one or more neighboring countries amounts to about 1.7 billion euros.
