According to preliminary data Monstat, 2.18 million tourists and 12.43 million tourist overnight stays were registered in Montenegro last year.
“Of the total number of overnight stays, 95.5% were accounted for by foreign tourists and 4.5% by domestic tourists,” the statement says.
In the structure of overnight stays foreign tourists last year, the largest number of overnight stays was made by tourists from Serbia — 25.5%, Russia — 16.4%, Bosnia and Herzegovina — 9.9%, Germany — 5.9%, Ukraine — 4.9%, Kosovo — 4% and the United Kingdom — 3.3%.
Tourists from other countries accounted for 30.1 percent of overnight stays.
“In the structure of overnight stays by type of tourist destination, last year the largest number of overnight stays was in coastal towns at 93.8 percent, mountain towns at 2 percent, the capital at 2.9 percent and other towns at 1.3 percent,” the statement says.
