Last year, Montenegro had 2.18 million tourists

According to preliminary dataMonstat, 2.18 million tourists and 12.43 million tourist overnight stays were registered in Montenegro last year.

“Of the total number of overnight stays, 95.5% were made by foreign tourists and 4.5% by domestic tourists,” the statement said.

In the structure of overnight staysby foreign touristslast year, the largest number of overnight stays was made by tourists from Serbia — 25.5%, Russia — 16.4%, Bosnia and Herzegovina — 9.9%, Germany — 5.9%, Ukraine — 4.9%, Kosovo — 4%, and the United Kingdom — 3.3%.

Tourists from other countries accounted for 30.1% of overnight stays.

“In the structure of overnight stays by type of tourist destination, last year the largest number of overnight stays was in coastal towns, 93.8%, mountain towns 2%, the capital 2.9%, and other towns 1.3%,” the statement said.
