At a meeting of Montenegro’s Financial Stability Council, a working group was formed that will prepare a draft law on crypto assets and the regulation of the circulation of cryptocurrencies in the country, reports RTCG
As stated in the announcement by Montenegro’s central bank, the draft law is needed to regulate the crypto assets sector, that is, to provide a legal and regulatory framework for activities related to this type of asset.
The work on the draft law will be overseen by Montenegro’s central bank and experts from the World Bank.
At present, the circulation of cryptocurrencies in Montenegro is in a “gray zone,” and transactions are actively carried out, but are not regulated in any way.
