About Lepetani

Lepetani is a small coastal settlement with a population of about 200 residents, located at the entrance to the Bay of Kotor, directly opposite Kamenari, connected by a car ferry across a narrow strait. The village retains a simple and authentic character with traditional houses, a narrow waterfront promenade, and a maritime way of life centered around port infrastructure.

History and culture

The history of Lepetani dates back to medieval times, when the strait was an important strategic passage in the Venetian era, later developing into a port settlement with a ferry crossing.

Its picturesque location at the entrance to the bay offers views of the opposite shore of Kamenari, the open Adriatic Sea beyond the bay, and the entire archipelago. The ferry crossing (15 minutes) is the main transport artery connecting the two shores and providing access to the Bay of Kotor for vehicles.
