Which documents you need for residence in Montenegro
After the 17 January 2026 reform a card is renewed only on the same ground it was issued on. So the document list has to match the ground you pick now.
Any temporary residence file (article 43) usually needs a passport, housing, insurance, means and a criminal-record extract. On top of that you prove the ground itself: for property, the cadastre extract and a transfer-tax decision with a base of at least €150,000; for a company, the CRPS extract; for family, a marriage or birth certificate; for work, the employer’s written offer.
